A few days ahead of their film’s release, the makers of Sundarakanda released their new single, ‘Dear Eira’, titled after one of the female leads of film, played by Virti Vaghnani. Sundarakanda, billed as a new-age romance, also stars Nara Rohith and Sridevi Vijaykumar, marking the on-screen comeback for the latter. Leon James has composed music for the film.
Composed by Leon James, ‘Dear Eira’ is an upbeat romantic number, making great use of groovy beats and classical-styled vocal interludes (by Keerthana Vaidyanathan) to create a catchy soundscape. Besides composing it, Leon James is also the main playback singer. Sri Harsha Emani has penned the lyrics. Leon James' recent film projects include Dragon, Laila, and Mazaka.
The trailer of the film, released a few days ago, promises for the film to be an inventive and musical romantic comedy, exploring contemporary relationships with a unique lens. Much in sync with the film’s tonality, the music video of ‘Dear Eira’ captures the film’s youthful and vibrant atmosphere.
Sundarakanda is written and directed by debutant Venkatesh Nimmalapudi. The film also boasts an ensemble cast, with notable actors like Naresh VK, Vasuki Anand, Satya, Ajay, VTV Ganesh, Abhinav Gomatham, Viswant, Rupa Lakshmi, Sunaina, Raghu Babu, Amrutham Vasu, and Adhurs Raghu on board. The film has been bankrolled under Sandeep Picture Palace banner, with Santhosh Chinnapolla, Gowtham Reddy, and Rakesh Mahankalli serving as producers.
Sundarakanda is slated for a theatrical release on August 27. Pradeesh M Varma helms the cinematography. Among other technical members, Rohan Chillale is the editor, and Rajesh Pentakota is the art director. Costumes are by Harsha and Poojitha Tadikonda.
Nara Rohith was seen earlier this year in Bhairavam, an action thriller also starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Manchu Manoj.
