In the last few months, since its announcement in April, the Atlee-Allu Arjun project has managed to constantly be in limelight. In May, the makers confirmed Deeepika Padukone as part of the project, tentatively titled AA22xA6. Now reports are coming in about a cameo appearance by Vijay Sethupathi.

Billed as a sci-fi entertainer, AA22xA6 will reportedly explore the concept of parallel universe — and Vijay is playing a key role in one of the parallel universe storylines. According to some reports, the makers have also shot a few sequences with Vijay Sethupathi in Mumbai. Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is expected to commence shoot for AA22xA6 in November.

Vijay Sethupathi and Atlee previously worked together in Jawan (2023) where the Vikram actor played the role of Kalee Gaikwad.  Vijay Sethupathi’s earlier Telugu film appearances include Uppena (2021), where too played an antagonist’s role. Vijay is also headlining the upcoming Puri Jagannadh directorial, billed as another pan-India project, where he will be seen sharing screen with Tabu.

The primary casting of AA22XA6 has been a subject of great speculation in the past couple of months. The makers have reportedly also locked Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur for major roles in the film. Other actors in consideration for key roles in the Atlee-Allu Arjun film include Janhvi Kapoor, Bhagyashri Borse and Ramya Krishnan.  The film is being produced under the banner of Sun Pictures, with Kalanithi Maran onboard as presenter. Sai Abhyankkar is signed as the music director. Details about other primary crew members are yet to be announced.

At a public appearance in June, Atlee said about his film, “We are bringing in all the latest technologies. In terms of budget, that’s for the producer to disclose. My focus is on creating a visionary cinematic experience. This film is my dream, and I believe the magnum opus will make us all proud.”
