Kanya Kumari, a rustic love story that’s been in the production stage for several years, is finally ready for a theatrical release. The makers unveiled the film’s trailer on Wednesday. Among others, Siddhu Jonnalagadda was present at the event to encourage the team.

Written, produced and directed by debutant Srujan Attada, Kanya Kumari tells the story of a simple-hearted farmer and a firebrand educated girl, who is stuck managing her family business even as aims for a life in city, working as a software engineer. While the two fall in love against their odds, their different dreams and aspirations come in their way eventually. What makes matters worse is the wide social divide between the two families.

Kanya Kumari promises to be a rooted and heartwarming love story, while also offering commentary about the undervalued status of farmers in the country. The first teaser of the film was unveiled in January 2024, with Vijay Deverakonda unveiling the teaser on his social media page. A few days ago, we had reported that Madhu Shalini has come onboard as the presenter for Kanya Kumari.

Ravi Nidamarthy has composed music for the film. Naresh Adupa is the editor. The cinematography is helmed by Shiva Gajula and Haricharan K. Bankrolled under Radical Pictures banner, Kanya Kumari is releasing on August 27, on the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi, clashing against other mid-range films like Sundarakanda, Tribanadhari Barbarik and Arjun Chakravarthy

Geeth Saini is known for her work in 2021 film Pushpaka Vimanam, which also starred Anand Deverakonda. Meanwhile, Sreecharan Rachakonda makes his film debut with this project.
