On Monday, the makers of Chai Waala had shared a character poster for its female lead Teju Ashwini. The official teaser of the film was unveiled at a launch ceremony on Wednesday morning.

Starring Shiva Kandukuri and Rajeev Kanakala in lead roles, Chai Waala revolves around a humble and honest cafe owner (Rajeev Kanakala) and his bumbling yet ambitious son (Shiva Kandukuri) who dances to his own tunes. While the son wants to go to US and live a prosperous life on his own, all that his father wishes for is for him to stay back in India with them, even if he doesn’t take care of Nawab Cafe, their long-standing family business.

Chai Waala promises to be a heartwarming story about family roots and ambitions, and the age-old dichotomy of the two. Pramod Harsha is the writer-director for the film, sharing writing credits with Imran Siddiqui who has penned the screenplay. Rajkumar Kasireddy plays the protagonist’s friend, while Teju Ashwini plays Sakhi. The ensemble cast includes Chaitanya Krishna and Vadlamani Srinivas among others.

Among other crew members, Prashanth R Vihari helms music direction, Kranthi Virla is the cinematographer and Supriya Battepari is the production designer. Editing is by Pavan Narava.

Chai Waala is produced by Radha V Papudippu & Co-Produced by Venkat R Papudippu under Harshika Productions Banner. The makers are yet to announce a release date.

Shiva Kandukuri’s upcoming projects include Boomerang, where he will be paired with Anu Emmanuel. Rajeev Kanakala was recently seen in the ETV Win series Constable Kanakam, which was headlined by Varsha Bollamma.
