Gautham Krishna to headline Murali Naik biopic; announcement poster unveiled

On Monday, Vishan Film Factory announced their maiden production, a biopic of Havildaar Murali Naik, also unveiling the announcement poster. Gautham Krishna has been signed to play the lead role. 

The announcement poster features Gautham in a battlefield, surrounded by soldiers and fighter jets, wounded, tired, but resilient. The announcement poster packs a punch, with Gautham Krishna in battlefield action, flanked by soldiers, armored vehicles, and fighter jets.

“The soldier has arrived with a bang!!,” the production house captioned the first look announcement. While the title is yet to announced, the makers mentioned a tagline ‘Balidaan Param Dharma,’ capturing the patriotic elements of a soldier’s selfless life. 

Gautham Krishna, who is popular for his appearance on Bigg Boss Telugu, recently played the lead role in the romantic comedy Solo Boy, sharing screen with Ramya Pasupuleti. Speaking at the event, Gautham said, “Speaking at a press meet called to announce the biopic, actor Gautham Krishna said, "This is not just a movie; it’s the story of a real hero. So far not a single film has been made about the life of a Telugu soldier — this will be the first.”

The launch event was marked by a heartwrenching tribute. Murali Naik’s family were present at the event, among others. Havildar Murali Naik was a 25-year-old soldier from Andhra Pradesh, belonging to the 851 Light Regiment, who was martyred in cross-border shelling at the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on May 8 this year. 

The Murali Naik biopic is being produced by K Suresh Babu. More details about the film’s primary cast and crew are yet to be announced. The shoot for the biopic will commence soon. The team is reportedly planning to release their film in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam as well.
