Manam, the iconic 2014 Telugu film that featured three generations of the Akkineni family in lead roles, will soon have a special re-release in Japan this month. The film will hit Japanese theatres on August 8. On the occasion, Nagarajuna will be virtually attending one of the screenings, besides participating in an interaction session with his fans in Japan, who fondly refer to him as ‘Nag Sama’.

Directed by Vikram Kumar, Manam first released on May 23, 2014. The film, set over multiple timelines, deals with the story of a wealthy businessman Nageswara Rao (Nagarjuna) who is trying to reunite a young couple (Naga Chaitanya and Samantha) that resembles his dead parents. In a parallel track, the film follows the story of an old man who is shocked when he meets Nageswara and Dr Anjali, who happen to be the look-alikes of his deceased parents.

Produced by Annapurna Studios, Manam also starred Shriya Saran in a double role and had music direction by Anup Rubens. Manam was also the last on-screen appearance of legendary A Nageswara Rao, who unfortunately passed away in January 2014, a few weeks before the film's release.

Last year, on the occasion of film completing 10 years, the makers had released Manam in select theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
