SS Rajamouli shared the trailer of the indie movie Muthayya on his X page, while also announcing the OTT premiere date for the film. Muthayya is slated to stream on ETV Win from May 1.

Directed by Bhaskhar Maurya, Muthayya tells the story of a 70 year old man who decides to pursue his lifelong dream of acting in a film. It stars K Sudhakar Reddy as the protagonist, and Purna Chandra and Mounika Bomma in the supporting cast. Additionally, it marks the debut for Arun Raj. 

The film has been jointly produced by Vamsi Karumanchi and Vrinda Prasad under the banners of Hylife Entertainments and Fictionary Entertainment. Over the last two years, Over the last 2 years, Muthayya has had screenings at several film festivals across the world — including UK Asian Film Festicval in London, South Asian Film Festival of Montreal (Canada), Third ACTion Film Festival's (Canada), and Ischia Global Fest (Italy).

Bhaskhar has also penned the script for the film. Divakar Mani, the cinematographer of the film, is also on-board as the co-producer. Sai Murali is the editor. 

Bhaskhar directed the recently-released web series Sivarapalli, the official adaptation of popular Hindi show Panchayat.
