Ram Gopal Varma is coming up with his next production, titled Saaree. On Saturday, the makers of the film announced December 20 as the release date for their film.

Bankrolled under the banner of RGV-AARVI Productions, Saaree is billed as a psychological thriller. The film is reportedly based on many real-life events. Talking about the themes explored in the film, Ram Gopal Varma stated, “In the current times, social media raises the curtain for terrible relationships. Through apps like 'Instagram', promiscuity is increasing in many people. Young girls are attracted in relationships without realising the truth to them. The main theme of the film is how much, over love, one can become terrible. This movie has been made to open the eyes of young girls."

A few weeks ago, the makers of the film released the first single of their film, titled ‘I Want You,’ which featured the film’s female lead, Aaradhya Devi, in the song video. Aaradhya is making her debut with the film. 

Besides having a Telugu release, Saaree will also release in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam.  For its Telugu release, Mutyala Ramdas of Venkata Sai Films has acquired the distribution rights.
