The makers of Varun Tej starrer Matka unveiled their second single, ‘Thassadiyya’ on Thursday. The upcoming crime drama is slated for a theatrical release on November 14.

Penned by Bhaskarbhatla, ‘Thassadiyya’ is a catchy and energetic composition about the protagonist’s rise in life. GV Prakash Kumar’s composition also works as a great ode to the disco-funk music that was the trademark sound of the 1970s’ pop music, further amped up by an inspiring use of a strong bassline and trumpets. Mano is the playback singer for the catchy composition.

The ‘Thassadiyya’ music video also seemingly pays ode to Chiranjeevi, with Varun Tej performing some moves on the lines of classic Chiranjeevi dance steps.

Directed by Karuna Kumar, Matka tells the story of a matka overlord and his rise, starting in 1958 and culminating in 1982. The film also stars Naveen Chandra, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi in prominent roles. The film is produced by Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Talluri under Vyra Entertainments in association with SRT Entertainments.
