Eminent film producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, known for bankrolling films like Jersey and Tillu Square, among many others, was the distributor for the recently released Devara: Part 1. This was only his second film as a distributor, after the Vijay starrer Leo. In a recent interview, the producer opened up on why he wanted to distribute the film.

Speaking to the podcast channel The Permit Room, Naga Vamsi stated, “Jr NTR was coming back with a solo film after 6 years, so I was very confident with it. It’s Janhvi’s introduction to Telugu cinema. Also, since his Telugu debut 6 years ago, Anirudh himself has become a brand of his own. So I wanted to be associated with the film in some way.”

Further talking about his association, Naga Vamsi clarified that he didn’t even watch a single frame of Devara: Part 1 before coming on board. He added, “I had just heard the songs that Jr NTR made me hear. I had my own calculations that the chances of this film not working are very less, so I took a risk.”

Naga Vamsi is one of the producers for the upcoming Dulquer Salmaan starrer Lucky Baskhar, which will release theatrically on October 31.
