Pawan Kalyan’s period action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 - Sword Vs Spirit has been on the shooting floor for many years now. In September, the makers announced March 28, 2025 as the release date for their film, also updating that the shoot for the film has resumed. Now, Pawan Kalyan has joined the sets to continue his shoot. 

The film’s production house Mega Surya Productions shared the update on their X page, adding the caption, “The final chapter in the struggle for righteousness begins. Our Chief, our ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ Pawan Kalyan garu has joined the shoot TODAY! More exciting updates coming your way soon.”

Billed as a period action drama, Hari Hara Veera Mallu tells the story of a historical warrior outlaw who went against the Nizam rule. The film also marks the first period setting based film for Pawan Kalyan. The film previously had director Krish but was later replaced by debut director Jyothi Krisna, son of AM Rathnam, the film’s producer. The film, which also stars Bobby Deol, Anupam Kher, Nidhi Agerwal and more, has cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and art direction by Thota Tharani. MM Keeravani is the music composer.

Pawan Kalyan’s last on-screen appearance was in the 2023 film Bro, where he starred with Sai Durgha Tej.
