Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa gets a release date

The periodic epic is releasing in major pan-Indian languages

The makers of Kannappa, headlined by Vishnu Manchu, announced on Monday that the film is releasing worldwide on April 25, 2025. The film touted as a period epic is based on the mythological story of Kannappa, a devotee of Shiva. The makers have been releasing first look posters of all the characters from the mythological epic boosting buzz for the film. The film also has a special appearance from Prabhas. 

Kannappa is produced by 24 Frames Factory. The period epic actioner also stars Mohanlal, Mohan Babu, Akshay Kumar, Sarath Kumar, Kajal Agarwal and more. Prabhas is set to be playing a surprise cameo in the film which is set to delight cinephiles.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa has cinematography by Seldon Chau, editing by Anthony Gonsalvez, and music by Stephen Devassy. The stunts and epic war sequences are choreographed by Kecha Khamphakdee. The film’s teaser premiered at Cannes Film Festival this year and the team plans to release the film in all major pan-Indian languages of Telugu, Hindi, English, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
