Veteran actor Mohan Babu, who completes his 50-year journey in Telugu cinema this year, will soon be seen in the fantasy-drama Kannappa. The film, which features his son Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, will have Mohan Babu play the role of Mahadeva Shastri. On Friday, the makers released a new character poster of the veteran actor.

The poster showcases Mohan Babu in an intense and divine look, dressed in traditional attire, with Rudraksha malas adorning his neck and wrists. The actor can also be seen wielding a weapon, and standing behind are a horde of Lord Shiva followers, which adds a spiritual depth to the image. The poster also carries the tagline, “When arrogance intertwines with faith, it births a force like no other.”

Kannappa is also a special film for the Manchu family, as it will feature three generations, Mohan Babu, Vishnu Manchu, and Vishnu’s son Avram Manchu, in the cast. The fantasy drama, which is mounted as a pan-India film, stars Prabhas and Akshay Kumar in special appearances, besides featuring eminent actors like Mohanlal, Sarath Kumar, Madhoo, Brahmanandam, and Kajal Aggarwal in the supporting cast.

Kannappa is produced by 24 Frames Factory and directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. The film has cinematography by Seldon Chau, editing by Anthony Gonsalvez, and music by Stephen Devassy. The stunts and war sequences are choreographed by Kecha Khamphakdee. The makers are yet to announce a release date.
