The makers of the upcoming Vishwak Sen starrer Gangs of Godavari have decided to postpone their film's release. The action-drama will now come out in theatres on May 31, as opposed to the originally planned May 17.

Vishwak Sen, who plays the protagonist Lankala Rathna in the film, shared the said update on his X page. His post read, “Our gutsy Gangster Lankala Rathna to arrive a little late but with a big Bang! After 5 years we are coming to theatres on the same date as Falaknuma Das, on 31st May to create history worldwide with Gangs Of Godavari.”

Lyricist-turned-filmmaker Krishna Chaitanya has written and directed Gangs of Godavari. The project is jointly bankrolled by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. 

The film stars Neha Sshetty as the female lead, besides featuring actors like Anjali, Nasser, and Goparaju Ramana in supporting roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music composer of the film, while Navin Nooli is the editor.

The makers had released their film’s official trailer on April 27.
