Filmmaker Nagesh Naradasi, whose last directorial venture was the 2018 film Viraj, is now coming up with his next project featuring Apsara Rani. The project, titled Talakona, is slated for a theatrical release on March 29.

The makers released their film’s trailer in October 2023. Produced by Devara Sridhar Reddy under the Akshara Creation banner, Talakona is reportedly a suspense thriller. Nagesh has also written the story and screenplay for the film.

Elaborating on the concept of his film, Sridhar Reddy stated, “The entire plot of this crime thriller is going to be set against a forest backdrop. But most people feel forest is only the beauty of nature. But it also has another dimension, politics and media are also mixed in it. Apart from that, we have also tried to tell what happens in nature (sic).”

Talakona’s lead Apsara Rani has earlier appeared in films like Krack (2021), D Company (2021), and Dangerous (2022). Besides Apsara, Talakona features Ashok Kumar, Ajay Ghosh, Vijay Karan, Ranga Rajan, Raja Roy, and Yogi Kantri in the supporting cast. Subash Anand is the music director for the film. Prasad is the cinematographer, and Avula Venkatesh is in charge of editing.
