The makers of Swag, Sree Vishnu's upcoming film helmed by Hasith Goli, announced that Ritu Varma will be playing the film's female lead on Sunday. The announcement was made on the occasion of Ritu's birthday. The announcement was made through a video, where she is introduced to the audience as Queen Rukmini Devi from Vinjamara Vamsham. 

Ritu was last seen in Mark Antony and a short film from the Modern Love: Chennai anthology. In Telugu, her last films was Oke Oka Jeevitham, which came out in 2022. 

Swag is written and directed by Hasith Goli. The film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibhotla under the People Media Factory banner. Vivek Sagar has composed the music of the film, with cinematography by Vedaraman Sankaran, editing by Viplav Nyshadam and production design by GM Sekhar.
