The makers of upcoming Vinoth Kishan starrer Peka Medalu released their new single ‘Adapilla - Her Anthem’ on Tuesday. The film’s soundtrack has been composed by Smaran Sai, who has also composed background score for films like RX 100 among others.

Penned by Bhargava Karthik, ‘Adapilla’ is a robust, folk-heavy composition that captures the perennial plight of womanhood at every corner of their lives. Sakae Rajashekar is the main playback singer for the number, which becomes doubly powerful because of its chorus section, performed by the Chakka Bhajana Troupe. The ‘Adapilla’ music video focuses on the film’s female protagonist (played by Anoosha Krishna) and how she is forced to curb her actions and live in a controlled manner by her own family.

Peka Medalu is written and directed by Neelagiri Mamilla. Rakesh Varre is the film’s producer, bankrolling the film under the banner Crazy Ants Productions. The film’s supporting cast includes names like Ritika Srinivas, Jagan Yogi Raj, and Anusha Nuthala. The cinematography is by Haricharan K, and editing is jointly helmed by Srujana Adusumilli and Hamza Ali. Hamza has also co-written the screenplay in collaboration with director Neelagiri and film’s co-director, Sreenivas Ittam.

The Vinoth Kishan-Anoosha Krishna starrer is slated for a theatrical release on July 19.
