Prashanth Varma's Hanu-Man has turned out to be the surprise Sankranti hit film in the list of movies released ahead of the festival. The film starring Teja Sajja in the lead role, has received positive response from all over the country from audience as well as critics.
Despite the massive reception for Hanu-Man, director Prashant Varma believes that there is a lot of propaganda and negativity surrounding his film at the moment. The director also claimed that there have been fake social media profiles set up just to sabotage the film.
In a post on X, Prashanth Varma wrote, "I've encountered a significant amount of propaganda surrounding our team, along with the proliferation of fake profiles across social media. It seems like some of this digital debris has been forgotten to be thrown in yesterday's Bhogi fire. However, I express my sincere gratitude to the cinephiles who offered their unwavering support and affirm our belief that 'The one who stands for Dharma will always win.'"
"Ultimately, HANUMAN Kite is set to fly even higher this Sankranti, treading negativity to the depths below," he added.
Teja Sajja also took to his X handle and said, "Fake acconts alert! Please don't spread negativity Ilanti chetta ni Bhogi Manta lo kalipeydam Andariki Bhogi shubhakankshalu."
His claims come days after he and the distributor filed a complaint with the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) alleging unfair theatre practices.
Directed by Prasanth Varma, Hanu-Man will be the first film from his cinematic universe. Hanu Man is Telugu cinema's first indigenous superhero, who derives his magical powers from his divine namesake. The film is set up in an imaginary place called Anjanadri and revolves around how the protagonist gets the powers of Hanuman and fights for Anjanadri.
Besides Teja Sajja, Hanu-Man also stars Amritha Aiyer, Vinay Rai, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Getup Srinu, Satya, and Raj Deepak Shetty, among others.
Backed by K Niranjan Reddy of PrimeShow Entertainment, the cinematography is by Dasaradhi Shivendra and the music is scored by Gowrahari, Anudeep Dev and Krishna Saurabh. SB Raju Talari is the editor.
