The much awaited official trailer of Guntur Kaaram was unveiled on Sunday at 9:09 PM. The trailer was released six days before the release of the film. Guntur Kaaram, an action entertainer/family drama, reunites actor Mahesh Babu with Director Trivikram Srinivas for the third time. The actor-director duo has previously worked together in Athadu and Khaleja. The film is a Sankranti release. Other films releasing this year for Sankranti are  Hanu Man (Teja Sajja-Prashanth Varma), Saindhav (Venkatesh Daggubati-Sailesh Kolanu) and Naa Saami Ranga (Nagarjuna-Vijay Binni).

The trailer shows that the film is set in Guntur and Hyderabad. Ramya Krishnan plays the estranged mother of Mahesh Babu's Ramana. We see glimpses of a host of the film's supporting characters including Prakash Raj, Easwari Rao, Jayaram, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ravindran and Teja Kakumanu. Sreeleela and Meenakshi Chaudhary are playing the film's female leads. It is the first time these actors are working opposite Mahesh Babu. The trailer is filled with snappy one-liners, action sequences and ample glimpses of Mahesh Babu in an out-and-out mass look.

Guntur Kaaram is produced by Naga Vamsi's uncle, senior producer S Radhakrishna (Chinnababu) under the banner Haarika Hassine productions. Thaman is the music composer of the film. Three singles of the film, namely Dum MasalaOh Baby and Kurchi Madathapetti have been unveiled so far. Manoj Paramahamsa (Leo, Radhe Shyam) is the cinematographer of Guntur Kaaram, with editing by Navin Nooli (Jersey, Virupaksha) and production design by AS Prakash (Ala Vaikuntapuramuloo, Janatha Garage).
