We had previously announced that six films are scheduled to release on Sankranthi, namely Guntur Kaaram, Saindhav, Hanu Man, Eagle, Family Star and Naa Saami Ranga. While the makers of Family Star opted out of the Sankranti release race a while back, pushing it indefinitely, the makers of Eagle officially announced on Friday that they will be postponing its release on February 9.

The film's team cited giving the other releases a fair fighting chance in the theatres as the reason behind the move. Taking to social media to make the announcement, Eagle's lead actor Ravi Teja writes, "Taking a step back for the welfare of Telugu cinema. A little change in the arrival, not in the shot and target. Eagle from February 9, 2024. Wishing the very best to all the films releasing this Sankranti." As a response to this announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter), Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, the producer of Guntur Kaaram writes, "love you sir...".

If Eagle will indeed hit theatres on February 9, it will be clashing with the Siddu Jonnalagadda starrer Tillu Square, which,  ironically enough, is produced by Naga Vamsi's banner Sithara Entertainments. 

As of this moment, Guntur Kaaram and Hanu Man are scheduled to release on January 12, while  Saindhav and Naa Saami Ranga will hit theatres on January 13 and January 14 respectively. 

Eagle also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Kavya Thapar, Navdeep, Srinivas Avasarala, Madhubala, Praneeta Pattnaik and Ajay Ghosh, among others. The film is written and directed by Kartik Ghattamneni, who has also served as the film's co-editor and co-cinematographer. Eagle has music composed by Davzand. The film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibhotla under the People Media Factory banner.
