Jr NTR's Devara: Part 1 release postponed to October 10

CE Features

The release of Jr NTR's Devara: Part 1, which was supposed to happen on April 5, has now been postponed to October 10 this year. The makers officially made the release date-related update with a new poster featuring Jr NTR. The announcement has finally put the lengthy speculations on the film's indefinite postponement to rest. Not so long ago, the film's writer-director Koratala Siva announced that the movie, which initially went on floors as a standalone feature, would be split into two parts. The film that is now scheduled to release in October is, technically, Devara: Part 1.

Koratala had last directed the Ram Charan-Chiranjeevi starrer Acharya (2022), which was a commercial failure. The writer-director is also currently embroiled in a plagiarism case, with Sarath Chandra, a novelist, accusing him of copying the story of his directorial Srimanthadu (2015) from Sarath's 2012 book Chachenta Prema.

While Janhvi plays Devara's female lead Thangam, Saif Ali Khan essays the role of the film's principal antagonist Bhaira. Devara marks the Telugu debut of both Janhvi and Saif. The film also stars Meka Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Shine Tom Chacko, Kalaiyarasan, Murali Sharma, and Narain. It is produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Sudhakar Mikkilineni, and Kosaraju Harikrishna under the banner Yuvasudha Arts. On the other hand, Anirudh Ravichander is the music director for the film.
