The upcoming romantic drama Drinker Sai is slated to hit theatres next Friday, December 27. Aishwarya Sharma, who will be making her debut with the film, spoke about her character in it and the Arjun Reddy comparisons.

Talking about her role in the film, Aishwarya said, “My character Baghi will appear innocent but also tough, strict, and somewhat rebellious. When I first heard the story, I thought it was a strong character, and I felt a great responsibility to portray it authentically. There will also be some fun elements in my character, and I believe the audience will connect with her.”

Addressing the reception the film’s teaser received, Aishwarya said, “After watching the trailer, you may have formed an opinion about Baghi. However, once you watch the film, you will truly understand the depth of the character. Baghi is pretty different from typical heroine roles.”

The Drinker Sai teaser, which was released a few weeks ago, also elicited plenty of comparisons with Arjun Reddy, which too told the story of a jilted lover who takes to alcohol. The debutant actor, however, deems any parallels with the Vijay Deverakonda starrer invalid. She said, “There is no comparison between Drinker Sai and Arjun Reddy,” explaining that the two protagonists belong to contrasting strata of society.

Further talking about the film’s themes and its differences with Arjun Reddy, Aishwarya noted, “In Drinker Sai, the audience will witness a beautiful love story. The film also conveys some meaningful messages, which, if shared now, would spoil the enjoyment of watching them on screen.”

Directed by Kiran Tirumalasetti, Drinker Sai stars Dharma in the titular role.
