Mrunal Thakur has now joined the cast of Adivi Sesh’s upcoming project Dacoit, in which she is set to play the female lead. The upcoming actioner is directed by Shaneil Deo, who has earlier worked as a cinematographer on many films like Krishna And His Leela and Goodachari and is making his directorial debut with this film.

Adivi Sesh made the announcement on his X page, sharing two posters featuring him and Mrunal in a rugged and intense look. The caption read, “Yes, you loved.. But you also betrayed me too. I won’t let this go, this needs to be resolved.” The poster also carries the tagline, “ek prem katha,” promising Dacoit to be a blend of love story and action.

It is to be noted that Shruti Haasan was earlier signed as the female lead for Dacoit. The makers had also released a brief teaser of their film, featuring Shruti and Adivi Sesh in an action avatar. Dacoit is co-written by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. Bheems Ceciroleo has been signed to compose music for the film. Supriya Yarlagadda is producing the film.

Mrunal Thakur’s last Telugu film was The Family Star, where she was paired with Vijay Deverkonda in the lead cast. Meanwhile, Adivi Sesh’s upcoming projects include G2, the sequel to his 2018 film Goodachari.

The makers of Dacoit are also planning to release the film in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannda. An announcement about the film’s release date is yet to be made though.
