Mohanlal’s character poster from Kannappa unveiled

The upcoming fantasy drama headlined by Vishnu Manchu will hit theatres in April next year

A few weeks ago, the makers of Vishnu Manchu starrer Kannappa had set April 25, 2025 as the release date for their film. On Monday, Vishnu unveiled a new character poster from the film, that of veteran actor Mohanlal.

Mohanlal plays a character named Kirata in the film. Vishnu Manchu added the caption, “I had the honor of sharing the screen space with one of the greatest Actor of our time. This entire sequence will be explosive.” The poster also carries a tagline, “Master of the Pashupatastra. The victor over the victorious, the legendary Kirata of the forest.”

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa boasts of a massive ensemble cast, including actors like Madhoo, R Sarathkumar, Preity Mukundhan, Rahul Ramakrishna, Brahmanandam and Mohan Babu among many others. Mohan Babu is also producing the film. Besides Mohanlal, the film will have special appearances from Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal and Prabhas.

Based on the mythological story of Kannappa, a Shiva devotee, the film is bankrolled under the banner of 24 Frames Factory. Kannappa has cinematography by Seldon Chau, editing by Anthony Gonsalvez, and music by Stephen Devassy. The stunts and war sequences are choreographed by Kecha Khamphakdee.

The makers of Kannappa are planning to release the film in Telugu, Hindi, English, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
