Vishwak Sen and Sithara Entertainments, who had worked together earlier this year on the period crime-drama Gangs of Godavari, are collaborating for another project. The film titled Funky was officially launched on Wednesday, with a pooja ceremony. 

Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin gave the muhurat clap shot, while Kalyan Shankar switched on the camera. The makers also unveiled a colourful title poster of their film on the occasion. Funky has been billed as a ‘fun family entertainer.’ The shoot for the film will commence only next year after the Sankranthi festival.

Anudeep KV, popular for his 2021 film Jathi Ratnalu, helms the script-writing and direction for Funky. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are co-bankrolling the project under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, while Srikara Studios will present the film.

Bheems Ceciroleo will compose the music, while Navin Nooli helms the editing. The cinematography will be by Suresh Sarangam. Additionally, Mohan Sato has been credited as a co-writer. 

Vishwak Sen was last seen in the action-thriller Mechanic Rocky, where he shared screen with Meenaakshi Chaudhary and Shraddha Srinath.
