As we reported earlier, 8 Vasanthalu is an upcoming concept-based film by acclaimed independent filmmaker Phanindra Narsetti, who is famous for his films Backspace (2012), Madhuram (2014), and the crowd-funded film Manu (2018). The film is touted as a character journey of a girl who goes from her age of innocence to being a strong-willed person. As the script demands, the film is being shot across India, and reportedly, 80 per cent of the shoot has been completed in locations like Ooty, Kashmir, Hyderabad, and KanyaKumari.

Starring Ananthika Sanilkumar of Mad (2023) fame, 8 Vasanthalu is a coming-of-age role that spans eight years. Her character, Shuddi Ayodhya, transitions from a calm 19-year-old to an intense 27-year-old woman who is a writer and practices martial arts. The last leg of the film’s shoot is said to commence in November in Agra and Varanasi. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the noted banner of Mythri Movie Makers.

Vishwanath Reddy cranks the camera while Hesham Abdul Wahab is composing music for the film. The makers of 8 Vasanthalu have mentioned that a glimpse featuring Ananthika’s character is coming soon.
