It was earlier reported that the makers of Chiranjeevi’s iconic 2003 film Indra were planning to re-release their film in theatres on a grand scale on August 22, which marks the Mega Star’s birthday. Now, the makers of the 2004 film Shankar Dada MBBS have confirmed a theatrical re-release for it as well.

Shankar Dada MBBS, which was directed by Jayanth C, also starred Meka Srikanth, Sonali Bendre, Girish Karnad and Paresh Rawal in prominent roles. The film, which was an official remake of the 2003 Hindi film Munna Bhai MBBS, emerged as a major box office success at the time.

It is to be noted that this is the second re-release for the film—Shankar Dada MBBS was earlier released in theatres in its 4K print last November. The month of August has been fruitful for older films’ re-releases. Mahesh Babu’s Murari, which released last week, witnessed massive number of footfall. Later this month, two of Nagarjuna’s most iconic films—Siva and Mass—are gearing for a re-release as well.

Chiranjeevi was last seen in the 2023 film Bholaa Shankar, where he shared screen with Tamannaah Bhatia and Keerthy Suresh.
