The Ravi Teja starrer Mr. Bachchan is gearing up for its worldwide release. In an interview with anchor Suma titled “Not a one-word answer," actor Ravi Teja revealed more about the film and his inspirations.

Talking about the title of the film, Ravi Teja says, “Amitabh Bachchan planted the seed in me to become an actor, mainly with Sholay (1975). And later, Sharaabi (1984) is my most watched film of his. In order to give him tribute and infuse the film with strong energy, I suggested the title, Mr. Bachchan. And now, we feel there’s no better title for this film.”

Mr. Bachchan, directed by Harish Shankar, is the official remake of the Ajay Devgn starrer Raid (2018), which is based on the real incident of the longest IT raid that happened in the 80s. When asked about the choice to greenlight a remake film, Ravi Teja responded, “Ajay Devgn’s Raid came to me before through another director, but it didn’t grab my interest because it’s a serious film. But later, when I heard Harish Shankar would be directing the remake, I said yes, because Harish has the capability to make it an entertaining experience. He has proven earlier that his remakes are special, and he adds his brand of fun to those films. That’s the main reason I accepted this film. Whoever has already watched Raid (2018) will forget that film. Even if Ajay Devgn watches Mr. Bachchan, he would be awestruck with the entertainment level in the film.”

The makers of Mr. Bachchan have been releasing many updates recently, and the third single from the film is set to release tomorrow. The film is coming to theaters on August 15, clashing with Ram Pothineni’s Double iSmart, also starring actor Sanjay Dutt and Kavya Thapar.
