Malavika Mohanan, who will soon be seen in the Vikram starrer film Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith, will make her Telugu debut with the Prabhas starrer The Raja Saab, which is slated for an April 2025 release. The actor, who was present in Hyderabad on Sunday to promote Thangalaan, also spoke about The Raja Saab.
Addressing the media personnel, Malavika stated, “I have been getting a lot of offers from the Telugu film industry. But I wanted to wait for the right offer to enter this industry. We all know Telugu industry is the biggest right now, and it’s on a different level. I was like, ‘I want to enter this industry with a bang.’”
Further talking about The Raja Saab director Maruthi, Malavika noted, “I wanted to do a movie where I can prove myself as a performer, and where I get a director who could extract that out of me. A film where I can push my own boundaries, and learn about myself as an actor. Maruthi Sir also writes really good roles for female characters. I am grateful to get such a fantastic character, in a movie led by Prabhas. It’s a completely different character from Thangalaan.”
Malavika’s upcoming projects include Sardar 2, where she will be seen sharing screenspace with Karthi. Thangalaan, meanwhile, is slated for a theatrical release on August 15.
