Vishwak Sen, who recently starred in the survival drama Gaami, will soon be seen headlining the action drama Gangs of Godavari. The makers of the film released their official teaser on Saturday.

By the looks of it, Vishwak Sen plays a lone warrior in the film who, for some untold reason, has turned an entire village against himself. The teaser ends with a declaration from the protagonist about how he doesn’t want the stigma of being ‘the good man.’ Gangs of Godavari promises to be a stylish and violent action drama dealing with moral conundrums of violence.

Lyricist-turned-filmmaker Krishna Chaitanya has written and directed Gangs of Godavari. Krishna has previously directed films like Rowdy Fellow (2014) and Chal Mohan Ranga (2018). The project is jointly bankrolled by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.

The film stars Neha Sshetty as the female lead, besides featuring actors like Anjali, Nasser, and Goparaju Ramana in supporting roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music composer of the film, while Navin Nooli is the editor.

Gangs of Godavari is slated for a theatrical release on May 17, clashing at the box office against the Kajal Aggarwal starrer Satyabhama.
