Sreenu Vaitla pens a gratitude note as Dhee completes 17 years

Popular 2007 film Dhee completed 17 years of its release on Saturday. The action-comedy, which starred Manchu Vishnu and Genelia D’Souza in the lead roles, was directed by Sreenu Vaitla. On the occasion, the filmmaker penned a gratitude note.

Taking to his X page, Sreeni Vaitla posted, “It has been 17 Years. Dhee is my lifetime memorable film; it was an outstanding experience that I always cherish.” The filmmaker thanked his producer, cast, and crew, including Brahmanandam and Sunil, who played supporting roles in the film, extending special acknowledgement to ‘all the audience and memers’ who kept the film alive in pop culture conversation over these years.

Dhee was a big box office success, and was eventually remade in Oriya, Tamil, and Bengali.

Currently, Sreenu Vaitla is busy with his next film Viswam starring Gopichand.
