Sabari trailer: Varalaxmi Sarathkumar on a quest to find her missing daughter

The film, directed by debutant Anil Katz, is slated to release on May 3

The makers of the upcoming film Sabari released its official trailer at a ceremony on Friday. The thriller drama stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead role. 

By the looks of its trailer, Sabari tells the story of a mother (Varalaxmi) who is on a quest to find her missing daughter Riya (Baby Krithika) against all barriers and societal prejudices. Her journey leads her to fighting battles that are as psychological as they are external. Anil Katz, who has earlier worked as a writer and assistant director on films like 1940 Lo Oka Gramam (2010) and Kamalatho Naa Prayanam (2014), is making his directorial debut with Sabari.

Actors like Ganesh Venkatraman, Shashank, Mime Gopi, Sunaina, Baby Krithika, Rajashri Nair, Bhadram, Phani, Krishna Teja, Prabhu, Archana Ananth, and Keshav Deepak comprise the supporting cast of the film. Gopi Sundar is the music director for the thriller film. The cinematography is by Rahul Shrivatsav and Nani Chamidisetty. Dharmendra Karakala is the editor, and Ashish Teja Pulala is the art director. 

Produced by Mahendra Nath Kondla under the banner of Maha Movies, Sabari is slated for a theatrical release on May 3.
