We had recently reported about Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa going on floors in New Zealand. The actor has also announced that the film will feature a few star cameos. While there are speculations about Prabhas making an appearance as Shiva in the film, newer reports are stating that Mohanlal might also be a part of Kannappa now.

Responding to a tweet which reported the Malayalam superstar's inclusion in the film, Vishnu Manchu replied with the words "Har har Mahadev" on X (formerly Twitter).

Kannappa is a mythological film seven years in the making. The film has undergone an eight-month-long extensive pre-production process before going on floors. The initial idea of the film was given by actor, writer and filmmaker Tanikella Bharani, with support from writers and filmmakers Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Vijendra Prasad, Thotapalli Sainath, Thota Prasad, Nageshwara Reddy and Eswar Reddy along the way.

In an announcement made recently, Vishnu Manchu has urged actors to not pay heed to false rumours and only get announcements and updates from the actor's official X account.
