Srinivas Avasarala creates new series titled Kumari Srimathi

The makers of Kumari Srimathi, an upcoming Telugu language Prime Original series have unveiled their motion poster video on Saturday. Actor, writer and director Srinivas Avasarala, who has directed Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi earlier this year is the series’ showrunner. Nithya Menen plays the titular role, that of a budding entrepreneur from a small town. 

The motion video introduces us to the locales of the series, with a voiceover of women gossiping about how a woman named Kumari Srimathi refuses to do a job, choosing instead to earn her fame like a Rajinikanth or an APJ Abdul Kalam through entrepreneurship.

Kumari Srimathi is the OTT debut of producers Swapna and Priyanka Dutt, who are producing the series’ under Early Monsoon Tales, a banner dedicated to web content. Early Monsoon Tales is the sister company of Swapna Cinema.

The series also marks the OTT debut of Srinivas Avasarala, who has co-written the series along with Uday Kaushik and Jayanth. Gomtesh Upadhyaye is the director of the series, with cinematography by Mohan Krishna, editing by Srujana Adusumilli and music by Staccato and Kamran. The series will also be releasing in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
