Kushi crosses Rs 50 crores at the worldwide box office

Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha's Kushi earned a remarkable sum of Rs 51 crores at the worldwide box office within two days of its theatrical release. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, Kushi grossed Rs 30.1 crores on its opening day. 

The film also stars Rahul Ramakrishna, Saranya Ponvannan, Sharanya Pradeep, Sachin Khedekar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Rohini, Jayaram and Srikanth Ayyengar in supporting roles. 

Kushi is Shiva Nirvana's fourth film after Ninnu Kori, Majili and Tuck Jagadish. While Kushi marks the maiden collaboration of Shiva and Vijay, Samantha has previously worked with the director in Majili

Kushi features a romance between a girl from an extremely religious family and a boy from an atheist family. The film opened to mixed to positive reviews. The film's Cinema Express review reads, "Largely, this film about an ideological clash offers little to reflect on—and this story about dreamy-love-leading-to-marital-distress creates little emotional resonance." 

Kushi is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with music by Hesham Abdul Wahab, cinematography by G Murali, editing by Prawin Pudi and production design by Jayashree Lakshminarayan.
