First look poster of Kannappa out

Starring Vishnu Manchu in the lead, the film is helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh

The makers of Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa unveiled the film's first look poster, on Thursday. The poster features the actor as Kannappa Nayanar, aiming the arrow at a water body, that looks like a Sivalingam. The tagline on the poster reads, "The bravest warrior, the ultimate devotee." 

Kannappa is helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh.  Dr. Mohan Babu is backing the film under the  24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment banners. Kannappa is a mythological film seven years in the making. The film has undergone an eight-month-long extensive pre-production process before going on floors. 

The initial idea of the film was given by actor, writer and filmmaker Tanikella Bharani, with support from writers and filmmakers Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Vijendra Prasad, Thotapalli Sainath, Thota Prasad, Nageshwara Reddy and Eswar Reddy along the way.

With regards to the rest of the cast, reports suggest that PRabhas and Mohanlal may be a part of the film. It is yet to be confirmed by the makers. Initially, Nupur Sanon was set to play Kannappa's female lead, but due to scheduling conflicts, she had to drop out of the project. 

Kannappa's technical crew consists of Vishnu Manchu who has written the film, Sheldon Chau cranking the camera, Stephan Devassy and Mani Sharma composing music, and Anthony Gonsalvez in charge of editing.
