Rajinikanth's Sivaji The Boss to re-release in the Telugu states

The Rajinikanth-starrer directed by Shankar is hitting the theatres again on December 9

Producer Aruna Guhan from AVM Productions took to social media on Sunday to announce that Rajinikanth's 2007 blockbuster Sivaji, also titled as Sivaji The Boss, will be re-releasing in the Telugu states on December 9. She wrote, "You asked, we heard you! Here comes a super treat for Superstar Rajinikanth's fans in Andhra and Telangana. Enjoy Sivaji on the big screen in select theatres from the 9th of December 2023 as part of a weeklong celebration for his birthday. Watch this space for more information." 

Sivaji, written and directed by Shankar, also stars Shriya Saran, Vivek, Suman, Raghuvaran, Manivannan, and Cochin Haneefa. The film revolves around the conflicts an NRI faces when he seeks to uplift the society in his homeland.

The film is written by Shankar and the late novelist Sujatha Rangarajan.

Sivaji is produced by MS Guhan and M Saravanan under the AVM Productions banner. AR Rahman is the music director of the film, with cinematography by the late KV Anand and editing by Anthony.

The film was released on June 15, 2007, to great commercial success and an enduring recall value over the years. Incidentally, the 3D version of the film was also released a few years later, and made quite a splash at the box office.
