After RRR's Naatu Naatu won the Best Original Song Award at the 95th Academy Awards, the film's director SS Rajamouli stated that the winning moment was surreal.

Naatu Naatu is composed by MM Keeravaani and penned by Chandrabose. It is sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. The singers performed the number live at the ceremony. Speaking to Variety, he said, "It feels completely surreal. To be very frank, we were almost expecting to win the award. If you ask me which is more valuable: the moment we won it, or the moment the song was performed on stage, it is very difficult for me to choose."

He further said that it was nice to see the audience clapping throughout the song when it was performed. "Giving a standing ovation for the performers really put me on top of the world, and the award put him [MM Keeravaani] on the top of the world.

When asked if winning the Oscars will make him fasten the works on the sequel, he said. "Obviously, it has put some acceleration in the script for the sequel."

RRR, the epic action-drama, features Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles. The film's ensemble star cast includes Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. RRR is a fictional story that revolves around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR), and their fight against the British Raj. The film opened to positive reviews and fared well at the box office.
