Oscars 2023: Yash heaps praise on team RRR and The Elephant Whisperers

Kannada actor Yash has extended his wishes to team RRR after the song Naatu Naatu won an Oscar Award under the Best Original Song category. 

Taking to his Twitter handle, the actor, who rose to fame with his performance in the KGF franchise, wrote, "What a momentous occasion for Indian cinema. The first song from an Indian production to win an Oscar, Naatu Naatu is truly a phenomenon Congratulations MM Keeravaani, Chandrabose, SS Rajamouli, S S Karthikeya, Ram Charan, Jr NTR and the team of RRR. More power to you all."

The song is composed by MM Keeravaani and penned by Chandrabose. It is sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. The singers performed the number live at the ceremony. 

Directed by SS Rajamouli, the epic action-drama features Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles. The film's ensemble star cast includes Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. RRR is a fictional story that revolves around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR), and their fight against the British Raj. The film opened to positive reviews and fared well at the box office.

He also wished the team of The Elephant Whisperers who won the Oscar Award under the Best Documentary short category. He wrote, "Congratulations Kartiki Gonsalves, Guneet Monga and the team of The Elephant Whisperers for bringing home the first-ever Oscar for an Indian production. Through your work and conviction, you have proven that both emotions and resilience transcend all forms and boundaries. Onwards and Upwards.
