The pre-release event of Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi (PAPA) took place on Saturday. It was attended by the cast and crew members, namely Naga Shaurya, Malavika Nair, and Srinivas Avasarala among others. Screenwriters Kona Venkat and BVS Ravi, filmmakers Maruti, Nandini Reddy, and Bobby, and actor Adivi Sesh were the special guests at the event.

PAPA is the third directorial of actor, screenwriter and filmmaker Srinivas Avasarala, who has earlier made Oohalu Gusagusalade (2014) and Jyo Achyutananda (2016).

Thanking his frequent collaborators like composer Kalyani Malik, and editor Kiran Ganti, Srinivas said, “I am thankful to everyone who supported me all through the journey. I also got immense support and positive energy from my producers Vivek Kuchibotla and Vishwa Prasad. I am happy that Dasari Prasad and Padmaja will be entering the industry as producers with PAPA. We also did sync sound for the film, which enhances the film’s realistic style of filmmaking. You should all look out for Mohan Krishna Indraganti in the film, whom I have launched as a singer in PAPA.”

It was an evening of gratitude as Malavika too thanked her fellow cast and crew members, and said, “As actors, we go through many phases, and with Naga Shaurya, it has been a delight to have a great journey throughout my career with him.”

Interestingly, director Nandini Reddy, who worked with Naga Shaurya and Malavika Nair in Kalyana Vaibhogame (2016), said, “I felt jealous whenever I saw the footage of PAPA. I wish I could have created such a beautiful romantic film between Naga Shaurya and Malvika. This film is something special and I wish the team a grand success.”

Incidentally, PAPA producers Vivek and Vishwa are backing Adivi Sesh's Goodachari 2, and the actor-filmmaker said, “The film gives me a positive, wholesome vibe of going on a long drive and listening to Ilaiyaraaja songs. I wish the team all the best”

Taking to the mic, composer Kalyani Malik said, “What I like about PAPA the most are Naga Shaurya and Malvika Nair. The lyricists added life to my songs, and it’s always wonderful to collaborate with Srinivas Avasarala.”

In what was the final speech for the evening, Naga Shaurya joined the list of people expressing gratitude for a bunch of people. He said, "After the release of PAPA, everyone will refer to us with the word ‘Phalana’. PAPA will be a definitive blockbuster. Srinivas Avasarala worked really hard despite his ill health. There is a special bonding between me, Srinivas, and Kalyani Malik. The music and background score is fabulous. PAPA will remain forever in your hearts.”
