The trailer of Bholaa Shankar, an upcoming entertainer starring Chiranjeevi was unveiled on Thursday evening. This is Chiranjeevi's second film of the year, after the Sankranti entertainer Waltair Veerayya. The film is set to hit the theatres on August 11.
The film, a Telugu remake of Vedalam (2015), starring Ajith, is directed by Meher Ramesh. Bholaa Shankar also stars Tamannaah, who plays Chiranjeevi's romantic interest alongside Keerthy Suresh playing his sister and Sushanth Anumolu playing Keerthy's love interest.
Murali Sharma, Raghu Babu, Ravi Shankar, Vennela Kishore, Sreemukhi, Tulasi, Bithiri Sathi, Satya, Get Up Srinu, Rashmi Gautam and Uttej form the supporting cast of the film.
The two and half minute long trailer shows that the film is an mass entertainer set in Kolkata, with elements of action, comedy, family drama and a conflict designed for the hero to save the day. The trailer ends with an outro of Chiranjeevi imitating his brother Pawan Kalyan.
Chiranjeevi returns to Kolkata after his 1997 comedy-drama Choodalani Undi. Bholaa Shankar is the second Telugu film of 2023 to be set in Kolkata after Rama Banam. It is also Keerthy Suresh's second film to be set in Kolkata, after the Rajinikanth-Siruthai Siva film Annaatthe.
Bholaa Shankar is produced by Anil Sunkara under the banner AK Entertainments. Mahati Swara Sagar is the music director of the film, with cinematography by Dudley, editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao and art direction by AS Prakash.
