Baby earns Rs 54 crores at the box office

The makers of the film claim that this is the fastest a medium-range film entered the 50 crore club

Baby has earned Rs 54 crores gross in the box office over the space of one week. The makers of the film shared the news with the claim that Baby is the first medium range film to earn 54 crores. 

The film, starring Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Viraj Ashwin, released on July 14. Baby, also starring Nagababu Konidela, Harsha Chemudu, Seetha and Kusuma Deggalamarri, is a romantic drama between Anand and Vaishnavi. Viraj plays the role of Vaishnavi's college friend. 

The film has opened to severely polarising reactions across the board, drawing the ire of feminists for its portrayal of women. Baby has also gotten appreciation from the likes of Sukumar, Allu Arjun, Vijay Deverakonda and Ravi Teja. Baby is written and directed by Sai Rajesh, who has earlier directed Hrudaya Kaleyam, while serving as a writer-producer for Colour Photo and Kobbari MattaBaby is produced by SKN under the banner Mass Movie Makers. The music of Baby is composed by Vijai Bulganin, with cinematography by MN Bal Reddy and editing by Viplav Nyshadam.
