Ahead of the film's title announcement and first glimpse at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 20/July 21(India), the makers of the Prabhas starrer Project K have unveiled the first look of its female lead Deepika Padukone from the film. Taking to social media to share the first look of the actress, the film's team describes her character, writing, "A hope comes to light, for a better tomorrow." Deepika is seen in a simple, light make-up look, sporting a brown baggy scarf around her neck with messy hair. She is seen looking pensively in the first-look poster.

Project K also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan and Disha Patani in key roles. A pre-look of Disha was also unveiled a while back.

Project K is written and directed by Nag Ashwin, who had earlier directed Yevade Subramanyam (2015), a coming-of-age tale and Mahanati (2018), a biopic on the late yesteryear actress Savitri. Project K (which is a working title) is a science fiction film with themes of dystopia and futurism. There have been rumours making the rounds that the K in Project K reportedly refers to Kaalachakra, which could be the finalized title of the film. Santhosh Narayanan is the music composer of the film, with cinematography by Djordje Stojilijkovic and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. Project K is scheduled for a Sankranti 2024 release.
