We have earlier reported on the speculations surrounding AR Rahman's inclusion in RC 16, Ram Charan's next film with Uppena-fame director Buchi Babu Sana. The music composer has confirmed this news in a press interaction in Hyderabad, thus making the news official. Rahman was discussing his work in Naayakudu, the Telugu dubbed version of Maamannan in the said press interaction. Maamannan, directed by Mari Selvaraj, stars Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil, Udayanidhi Stalin and Keerthy Suresh. Naayakudu will be released on July 14.
RC 16 will be AR Rahman's straight Telugu album after 14 years. His last straight Telugu album was the Naga Chaitanya starrer Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo.
Ram Charan is currently shooting for RC 15 aka Game Changer, which is directed by Shankar. Game Changer, produced by Dil Raju, stars Kiara Advani, Anjali, Naveen Chandra, SJ Suryah, Samuthirakani and Nassar. RC 16 is Buchi Babu's second film after his debut directorial Uppena, the former is reportedly said to be a sports drama centred around a disabled athlete. Ram Charan, who was last seen in RRR and Acharya, will start working in RC 16 after he finishes wrapping his portions in Game Changer.
