Hidimbha, the upcoming Telugu film starring actor Ashwin Babu in the lead role has completed the censor formalities and is set for a theatrical release on July 20, the makers informed on Tuesday.

With the film’s trailer promising a lot of action which were considered objectionable, the film was censored by the review committee and got approval. The film is helmed by director Aneel Kanneganti, with actor Swetha Nanditha playing the female lead.

Previously the makers had released the trailer of the film which shows two stories, one that is set in 1908 on the islands of Andaman and other happening in the present day Hyderabad. While the period story showed British policeman bring a boatload of Indian criminals to the coast of the Bay of Bengal, the present day story showed the Hyderabad Police in pursuit of a serial killer.

Produced by Gangapatnam Sridhar under the banner of Sri Vignesh Karthik Cinemas (SVK Cinemas), in association with OAK Entertainments, Anil Sunkara of AK Entertainments is presenting the film. The technical team of Hidimbha consists of cinematography by B Rajasekhar and music scored by Vikas Badis. The film is edited by MR Varma with Kalyana Chakravarthy penning the film’s dialogues.
