On Thursday, the makers of Maamannan announced that the film will release in Telugu on July 14 titled Nayakudu. Maamannan hit theatres on May 29 and opened to favourable reviews.

Helmed by Mari Selvaraj, the film stars Udhayanidhi Stalin and Vadivelu in lead roles. While Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead, Fahadh Faasil is seen in the role of the antagonist. Maamannan marks Mari's third directorial after Parayerum Perumal and Karnan.

The film has music composed by AR Rahman. The film's technical crew includes cinematographer Theni Eswar, editor RK Selva, and Action Choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan.

Notably, it marks Udhayanidhi's final film as an actor before he takes up a full-fledged political career. The film is backed by Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant movies.
