Rajinikanth appreciates Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy

Filmmaker Gopichand Malineni has tweeted that Tamil star Rajinikanth appreciated his latest film, Veera Simha Reddy, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role. Sharing the news on Sunday, an elated Gopichand Malineni wrote, "This is a surreal moment for me. Received a call from the Thalaivar, The Superstar Rajinikanth sir. He watched Veera Simha Reddy and loved the film."

The filmmaker added, "His words of praise about my film and the emotion he felt are more than anything in this world to me. Thank you, Rajini sir."

The film, co-starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Duniya Vijay and Shruti Haasan, tells the story of a leader named Veera Simha Reddy and his feud with his sister which leads to violent repercussions. The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, was released on January 12, coinciding with Sankranthi, and went on to prove to be a commercial success despite receiving mixed-to-negative critical reception.

Balakrishna will be next seen in an Anil Ravipudi directorial, while Rajinikanth has Nelson's Jailer coming up.
