Writer Padmabhushan trailer unveiled

The two and half minute trailer promises romance, comedy and slice-of-life moments

Abhilasha Cherukuri

The makers of Writer Padmabhushan have released its trailer. Writer Padmabhushan stars Suhas, who is seen playing the titular role, along with seasoned actors Ashish Vidyarthi and Rohini Molleti playing his parents and newcomer Tina Shilparaj playing his romantic interest.

Writer Padmabhushan revolves around Bhushan, a young bibliophile, and librarian from Vijayawada, whose literary aspirations to write 'The great Telugu novel' fails when his self-published book finds zero takers. We are also introduced to Bhushan's quotidian middle-class parents and his girlfriend, who professes to be a fan of his book. The trailer then cryptically shows things taking a turn for the worse, with a comedy of errors and a ‘the lady doth protest too much’ angle turning the story on its head.

Writer Padmabhushan is written and directed by Shanmukha Prashanth and co-produced by Chandru Manohar (Lahari Films), Anurag Reddy and Sharath Chandra (Chai Bisket Films). Writer Padmabhushan is the maiden feature of Chai Bisket Films, who run a popular Youtube channel under the same name.

The music of the film has been composed by Shekhar Chandra and Kalyan Malik, with cinematography by Venkat R Shakamuri and editing by Kodati Pavan Kalyan and Siddharth Thatolu.
