The makers of the Tamil-Telugu bilingual, Sir (Vaathi in Tamil), have unveiled the second single from the film. The song, titled Banjara, is a foot-tapping, inspirational number sung by Anurag Kulkarni.
Composed by GV Prakash Kumar, the song has lyrics penned by National Award-winning lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja.
The song indicates that Dhanush, who is essaying the role of a lecturer, is fighting for a cause along with a group of students.
Speaking about the song, Suddala Ashok Teja said in a statement, "Through Banjara, we’ve tried to discuss the innate philosophy of life, the purpose beneath our existence and the fight for livelihood between our birth and our last breath. The song discusses why it’s wrong to say that God hasn’t done much to help you, how he has a place reserved for you and that it’s your responsibility to reach there. I liked how the director narrated the story, situation and wanted me to write about a life journey in a song form. 'Banjara' was written keeping the essence of Bhagavadgita and the preachings of sage Adi Shankara in mind."
Sir stars Samyukta Menon as the female lead while Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, and Narra Srinivas will be seen in supporting roles.
The film is set to release in theatres on February 17.
