It's a wrap for Custody

Ram Venkat Srikar

The team of Custody announced the shooting wrap by sharing a video from the film's last day of filming on Friday.

In the video, director Venkat Prabhu, who is seen standing in front of the monitor and surrounded by the unit, including cinematographer SR Kathir, tells in the mic, "And it's cut." The filmmaker and his crew instantly break into clapping and Venkat goes on to say, "Chay [Naga Chaitanya], you're released from our custody."

The camera then pans to show Chaitanya who addresses the viewers, "Only to take you into custody on May 12." The film's female lead, Krithi Shetty joins and says, "See you in theatres," as the team continues to cheer, celebrating the completion of filming.

Custody, which marks Venkat's first foray into Telugu cinema, features an ensemble cast, including Arvind Swamy, Priyamani, R Sarathkumar, Vennela Kishore, Sampath Raj, Premji, Premi Vishwanath and Ramki. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Ilaiyaraja while Venkat Raajen will handle the editing department.

Venkat Prabhu has penned the dialogues for the film in Tamil while Abburi Ravi has penned the Telugu dialogues. The film is set to release in theatres on May 12.

Post Custody, Venkat Prabhu will be joining forces with Kannada star Sudeep for a multilingual project while Chaitanya will be making his streaming debut with the Prime Video original Dhootha, helmed by his Manam and Thank You director, Vikram K Kumar.
